2011 Porsche Cayenne. Definitely more aggressive styling. And they are now introducing a Hybrid version (a 47hp electric motor nailed to a supercharged V6). Still not sure what I think of it.

1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder.

What a gorgeous car. Cameron’s dad in Ferris Bueller definitely had some great taste.

These days, though, I’m very much a BMW fan. Something happened to Mercedes in the interim, and they now strike me as a bit flashy. What’s with all those shiny highlights on the fascia, for one thing? The styling seems to have become fussy, the wheels have become a bit vulgar, and if I actually knew what it meant I’d say that a Benz has become a bit chavvy.

I like what’s been happening to BMW since I’ve been on Top Gear. That ‘flame surface’ styling that everyone got so worked up about now looks cool and modern, and the inside of a BMW has become tasteful and intelligent.

I’ll guarantee that nothing exciting, vibrant, dynamic, new, creative, hopeful, or beneficial in any way to humanity has ever been done, thought of, or driven to in that drab, drearily, entirely beige, willfully awful, pile of misery.

GTA Tripping: Fine British Automobiles

Something I’ve always wanted to do. Walk up to one of Toronto’s finest car dealerships and take a rolling wedge of blasphemy out for a spin. Sadly (based on this story) that may not be so feasible.
